Consolidation News

All of the secondary principals were filmed as a way for them to introduce themselves to their school communities.   These interviews are on the consolidation website.

School Updates:

Veterans:

• Junior student leaders from Veterans High School met with Toll Gate junior student leaders.

• April 28th 6:30 Veteran’s orientation begin in auditorium, Q&A, current Vets students will lead tours for incoming students. New assistant principal, Lynn Prentiss, will be in attendance.

• April 8th at 6:30 dance at Vets for Aldrich and Gorton students sponsored by the Warwick PD organized by Officer Carreiro.

Toll Gate:

• Student shadowing at Toll Gate will start in May by grade level.  The visits will begin with the junior class. Mr. Kane and Mr. Tober are organizing the visits. The student visits at Pilgrim have been a positive experience thus far.  We look forward to the Toll Gate students having the same experience.

The three consolidation public forums were held in March at the following locations.  The forums provided the opportunity for parents to meet the members of the consolidation committee and the secondary principals.  There was also an open forum which allowed attendees to have their questions answered.

Construction Update:

Construction drawings are near completion. Seating for the auditoriums has been chosen and fabric colors will be as close to the school colors as possible. Science lab designs are almost complete for Veterans Junior High.
